Community Outreach Programs

A workshop available for parents to better understand this disease. 

• Topics: Infant gut health basics, NEC awareness, breastfeeding and donor milk, safe feeding practices for preemies.
   
• In-person at local partnering hospitals & virtual webinars.

Submit your art work to uplift the families that have been given the diagnosis of NEC.

• A virtual gallery.
   
• Individuals and/or Families submit artwork, photos, or letters sharing their NEC journey.
   
• Displayed at local children’s hospitals during NEC Awareness month.
  

This is a designated program for families to express how they feel & connect during this trying time. 

• Connect experienced NEC parents with those currently in the NICU.
   
•  Offer emotional and informational support.
   

Provide NICU/NEC families with Thanksgiving meal baskets to alleviate financial and emotional stress during the holidays.

Program Details:

• Timeline: October 15 – November 20
   
• Contents of Baskets:
   
  • Shelf-stable Thanksgiving foods (stuffing, canned vegetables, cranberry sauce, etc.)
     
  • Grocery store gift cards ($25–$50)
     
  • Notes of encouragement from community members or former NICU families
     

The Forever Jewelz Foundation will match board members with NICU/NEC families to provide holiday gifts and support.

Program Details:

• Timeline: November 10 – December 15 (gifts delivered by Dec. 20)
   
• How It Works:
   
  • Families sign up confidentially through a hospital social worker or outreach coordinator
     
  • Board members "adopt" a family and receive a Wishlist (toys, clothing, gift cards, etc.)
     
  • Gifts are wrapped and delivered or dropped off at a central collection point
